Departure from Tahiti
Located in the city of Punaauia, Marina Taina will be the starting port for this 2018 edition. The prologue (November 10) and the first round will take place in the Papeete harbor, heart of the Polynesian capital city.
Leg 1 : Tahiti – Moorea
November 12 (17 nautical miles)
This first leg will link the islands of Tahiti and Moorea. The fleet will arrive in the majestic Cook Bay north of Moorea, also called the sister island by its geological resemblance to Tahiti.
Leg 2 : Moorea – Huahine
November 13 (80 nautical miles)
It is the stage of all the challenges for the competitors. There will be no stadiums before this leg. At the end of this epic run, the boats will arrive in Fare, the main town of the island. They will then sail down south to the hotel Le Mahana in a splendid landscape.
Leg 3 : Huahine – Raiatea
November 14 (25 nautical miles)
After in-shore race in front of the hotel Le Mahana, the fleet will sail up the lagoon of Huahine towards the pass of Fare and will head towards Raiatea, the most populated of the Leeward Islands and capital of Polynesian nautical tourism.
Stage 4 : Raiatea – Bora Bora
November 15 (25 nautical miles)
The stadiums will take place just in front of the capital of the island, Uturoa, then the competitors will leave towards Bora Bora, the pearl of the Pacific, by making the turn of the unknown but so beautiful, the island of Tahaa, also named “the vanilla island” for its great production of the subtle orchid.
Leg 5 : Raid in Bora Bora lagoon
November 16 (15 nautical miles)
After stadiums in front of the main city of the island, Vaitape, the competitors will have their last fight in one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world, that of Bora Bora. The route traces a round trip from north to south passing by the north of the island with an arrival in front of Vaitape. The postlogue (November 16) will take place in the western part of the lagoon.
