After a memorable 2018 edition of the Four “foilers” and the Diam24 won by Trésors of Tahiti, the organization had not succeeded in 2019 to reunite the stars of the Diam24 circuit again.
Four “foilers” and the Diam24
The organizers, Teva Plichart and Emmanuel Versace, therefore decided to change boats by highlighting foil supports and to replace the GP Pacifique des Jeux with the Flying GP Pacifique des Jeux. The Diam24 will remain present on the competition but will leave the primacy of the regatta to four foilers: Moth Foil, Onefly, Waszp and Windfoil.
Pending to the end of quarantine for new arrivals
From July 1, international flights to Tahiti will resume but the quarantine period of 14 days of confinement imposed by the government on new entrants prevents any possibility of organizing an international regatta. But by then, the organization is hopeful that the reception situation will improve. The dates for the Flying Pacifique des Jeux are therefore set for November 20 to 29.
Registration is open to all competitors from today until September 1. From that date until November 5, registration fees will increase by 50% from € 500 to € 750 *.
A 100% course in Tahiti
For this first edition, the Flying Pacifique des Jeux will take place mainly in Tahiti with a long stage towards the peninsula passing through the East and a return leg between Tahiti and Moorea in the same day. The final route will be announced in the coming weeks.
